Associate Research Director, Jobs for the Future
Valerie Lundy-Wagner is currently an associate research director at Jobs for the Future (JFF) in the Oakland, CA office. In this role, she manages an implementation research study focused on regions that are designing career pathways across K-12 and postsecondary education throughout California. She also supports cross-sector partnership and leadership development via technical assistance and coaching for these and other regions. Prior to joining JFF, Dr. Lundy-Wagner was a senior research associate at the Community College Research Center (CCRC) and the Center for Analysis of Postsecondary Education and Employment (CAPSEE) where her research focused on supporting institutional and state-level strategies for improving education and workforce outcomes. Dr. Lundy-Wagner is also an affiliate researcher with the Center for Minority Serving Institutions and on the review board for the Journal for Diversity in Higher Education. Valerie Lundy-Wagner earned her bachelor of science degree in civil & environmental engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master's degree in education from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania, and was a post-doctoral fellow in engineering education at Purdue University and higher education at New York University.
