Education Programs Consultant, College Preparation and Postsecondary Programs

LeAnn Fong-Batkin is an education programs consultant at the California Department of Education’s College Preparation and Postsecondary Programs Office, and is one of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s senior advisors for higher education issues. LeAnn also coordinates a Northern California professional development and networking group for Asian and Pacific American women, called “Asian and Pacific American Women of Excellence.” LeAnn formerly worked with the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, in the Government Relations and Research and Accountability Units. In addition, LeAnn worked at the California State Auditor’s Office. Her prior experience includes administering continuing education programs for working professionals at Sacramento State. LeAnn holds a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from UC Santa Cruz, an MBA degree from CSU Sacramento, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from UC Davis.
